Top BSW Colleges in India: Admission Process & Eligibility Criteria

If you are into helping the lesser fortune, people who are in dire need of help, and are all about assisting humanity to develop, Social Work is what you need to do. There are not many people out there who are willing to come to the aid of people who barely have the basic necessities in life and who are just about managing to survive. If you have volunteered before for NGOs, been in campaigns to raise awareness about diseases or a problem which has been surfacing for a long time, or have been to charity events, the common goal here is so that society provides for those who are in need of a proper, healthier and happy life.

Universities and Colleges in India offer a programme in Social Work. Students are trained on how to help people, how to be creative and mainly, how to put one’s needs before oneself. The course can be taken up as a full-time course or even a Correspondence /Distance Education course. The duration of the course is generally three-years. Students can also go on to pursue their Postgraduate course in Social Work as well. If interested, students can also go on to do their Research Work in Social Work by pursuing programmes such as MPhil and PhD.
