How about doing welfare work?
In order to make your vacation useful and enriching, spend time working with NGOs. The National Foundation for India is providing such an opportunity to college-level students. They can choose their area of interest — drought management, health facilities, human rights, women’s empowerment, good governance, etc.
These ‘interns’ are placed with welfare organisations for six-eight weeks, and learn more about the underprivileged sections of the society. Each intern is given a stipend of Rs 5,000 for food, accommodation, local travel, etc. At the end of your training you’ll have to submit a report on your activities.
