Q:   What if I do not qualify the NIMCET?

A:

 In case candidates fail to obtain the cut off marks or rank, they may appear for NIMCET next year as well. It is to be noted that:

NIMCET will be conducted in three parts with 120 multiple choice questions. 
Part I (70 minutes duration) consists of Mathematics (50 questions).
Part II (30 minutes duration) consists of Analytical ability and logical reasoning (40 questions).
Part III ( 20 minutes duration) consists of Computer Awareness (20 questions) and English (10 questions)

Each correctly answered question will be awarded full marks and each wrongly answered question will lead to 25 negative mark.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for NIMCET?

A:

This is the eligibility criteria of NIMCET 2024: Candidates must be a citizen of India. Candidates must be holding graduation degree, such as BCA/B.Sc (Hons)/B.Sc/ BIT as per 10+2+3 pattern from a recognised University. Candidates must have studied Mathematics or Statistics or equivalent subject during graduation degree. General category candidates need to score at least 60% marks or score 6.5 CGPA aggregate. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category need to obtain at least 55% marks or score 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale in an aggregate of all subjects. Candidates who have Bachelor of Engineering (BE), B.Tech degree or equivalent degree are also eligible for NIMCET 2024. Thank you.

Q:   What is the minimum marks required to qualify for NIMCET?

A:

Candidates securing at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale in case of SC/ ST/PwD) in
- Any UG programme of minimum Three years with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of
the subjects
OR
- B.E./ B.Tech. from a recognised University/Institution are eligible to appear for NIMCET 2024.

Q:   Can a candidate do an MCA at IIT?

A:

 IIT Roorkee, IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi offers MCA course. To apply for this course, candidates have to pass the IIT JAM test (IIT - Joint Admission Test). Based on the merit list through the examination, a candidate will be selected for the academic course.

Q:   Which subjects are compulsory in NIMCET?

A:

According to the NICMET exam pattern, the examination paper will consist of topics from Mathematics, Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness and General English. All of these subjects have to be prepared for the examination. The official syllabus of NIMCET is released online. 

Q:   What is the age limit to apply for NIMCET?

A:

As per the NIMCET eligibility criteria mentioned in the brochure, there is no age limit to apply for NIMCET. Candidates of any age can apply and appear in the NIMCETs exam. The only criteria that is applicable is that the candidate must have passed graduation or appear in the year of taking the NIMCET exam.

Q:   Can I do MCA from IIT Roorkee?

A:

You will have to appear for Joint Admission Test. The objective of JAM is to provide admissions to various MCA, M.Sc, Joint M.Sc-PhD, M.Sc-PhD Dual Degree and other post-Bachelor degree programmes at the IITs based on the performance in a single test. The application form can be filled offline.

Q:   What is the minimum passing marks of MAH MCA CET?

A:

The Maharashtra CET Cell do not release any minimum passing marks for MAH MCA CET. The basis of admission is merit list which is released by considering the marks obtained in MAH MCA CET and graduation. Candidates who appear in the exam are given percentile scores on the basis of marks scored. The percentile scores in MAH MCA CET and percentage in graduation is used to arrive at an All India Rank which will be used for admission at the institutes.
