E-com job opportunities on the rise
The future of E-commerce in India is driven by strong growth prospects. Propelled by an increasing Internet consumer base spurred by the use of smart phones and laptops, and widening Internet penetration in the country, the booming online retail segment worth Rs 2,000 crore at present, is likely to scale up to Rs 7,000 crore by 2015, according to a report by industry body Assocham.
Reporting an annual growth rate of 35 per cent, the e-commerce sector is a new favourite in the job market. This placement season saw e-commerce companies hiring talent at the country's premier institutions like the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and Indian Institute of Technology (IITs). Read more

Reflecting on the overall hiring scenario, India's leading job portal Naukri.com's monthly report - Naukri Jobspeak's April edition said: The first month of the financial quarter starts on a positive note with hiring activity in Apr-12 being 12 per cent higher when compared to Apr-11. Although, there are some sectors which are still on the path of recovery, hiring in sectors like IT- Software and Banking are surging ahead strongly. The index for IT sector in Apr-12 at 1400 is the highest since inception (Jul-08) and hiring activity is 18 per cent higher when compared to Mar-12.
While hiring in certain sectors has slowed down, most companies are still cautiously optimistic as good talent is difficult to find. Therefore, we do not expect that hiring to slowdown in the coming months" said Hitesh Oberoi, managing director and CEO, Info Edge India.
