In collaboration with ARM Ltd, the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics at University of Liverpool (UK) has started inviting applications from Indian postgraduate students for the ARM scholarship 2012. This scholarship is exclusively for postgraduate Indian students who have been offered a place for one of the University's Masters Degree programmes in Microelectronic Systems or Microelectronic Systems & Telecommunications for the academic session 2011-12. This £6,200 worth scholarship award encompasses a four-month paid internship at a leading technology company in Cambridge. Besides this, the university will also grant the qualifying students a ‘Regional award' of £1000. The interviews for the same will be held in May this year. (Read more)

For being eligible for the scholarship, aspirants must:

 

  • Have a BE, ME, B.Tech or M.Tech degree in a subject related to electronic engineering or a computer science/engineering degree where hardware electives have been studied.
  • Have significant work experience in embedded systems, systems on chip, or IC design
  • Have keen interest in computer architecture, computer micro-architecture, compilers, operating systems, C and assembly languages, algorithms and data structures.

 

M.Sc candidates are expected to have prior knowledge of digital systems, CMOS transistor circuits and signal processing topics. Moreover, good English language skills (minimum IELTS 6.5/TOEFL 230 + ER 4.0 or 70% in English at Class XII from a national or metro state board) is also important.
