Microsoft Corporation is set to offer a new education resourcing programme 'Microsoft Ed-vantage'. The programme will cater to both technical and non-technical colleges and institutes in the country using MS software. The new programme will help academic institutions across the country with relevant topics offering the opportunity to partner with the world’s largest software major for technology innovation and capacity building in terms of faculty and students. It will help students build the right skills and become more employable.

The new initiative aims to offer student solutions to individual needs of over 10,000 universities and colleges in India, providing them the opportunity to compete on the global employment stage on an equal footing. Academic institutions and their students, who are leveraging Microsoft programs such as Campus Agreements, IT Academy, DreamSpark, Imagine Cup and Student2Business that offer the right software tools, can benefit in terms of industry connection for internship and employment opportunities.

Based on the core principles of genuine software, campus agreements, sound content and platform for IT certifications, the Ed-vantage programme will be offered at four levels, namely basic to silver, gold and platinum.

The ‘Microsoft Ed-vantage’ programme has been introduced at an affordable cost to meet the requirement of genuine software and certifications that will enhance the employability of students amid increasing education costs.

Salient features of the programme:

  • The Basic benefits include DreamSpark activation keys to students, "How to leverage Microsoft" on campus session, Free O365 subscription to students;
  • Silver includes on campus hands on "technology / productivity foundation" workshop;
  • Gold benefits include invitation to annual faculty summer camp at Microsoft; and
  • Platinum gives an invitation to annual faculty summit by Microsoft Research.
