How I chose my course and college: Avnish Shukla

Sirifort Institute of Management Studies

My journey to college is fairly simple.

I cracked IPU CET 2017 for Bachlor of Computer Science (BCA) with a rank of 2208. For that, I prepared for just a week before the exam, but I did that thoroughly. I read most of the technical points. Having studied computer language previously, I already knew many things. Hence, I just needed to revise a few concepts. Maths was also easy. Also, I had a good command over English. Hence, I cracked the exam with this ranking.

The counselling started and I filled the choices. in the first cut-off, I got Chander Prabhu Jain College, Narela. It was very far from my home, hence, my father and I decided not to get admission here. We decided to go to the next round of counselling. So I paid the fee for participating in the further rounds and edited the choice-filling. In the next round, I got Sirifort College. I consulted my school teacher and he told me join it as it is a good college. So I did. I went to the college and froze my seat. I showed the allotment letter to the college staff members. They guided me for further formalities and I completed them in one day. Then I got admitted to Sirifort Institute of Management Studies (earlier Sirifort College of Computer Technology and Management).

The first year of college has been very good so far. The teachers are supportive. They teach in a good way. The teachers teach the topics in depth and make the basics clear. Since I was a science student and BCA is a corporate course, I got to learn many things. I'm thankful to the college staff members as because of them, I was able to explore new areas of learning. Our programing language teacher is very good. He made us understand the point of all parts of programming. I learned many skills in college due to extra-curricular activities that were held in the college. I donated blood. I learned public speaking due to a special subject called general proficiency, in which we spoke on a topic in front of the class. And that is the main learning area. Thanks to the college and its environment.

This is my story.
