So before aspiring for a career in this field, one needs to understand what's covered under Big Data:
- Analyzing Data: Multiple databases along with file formats are analysed and processed.
- Storage capacity: With the use of Big Data technology one can store as well as distribute tons of data across hundreds of servers operating in parallel. Traditional (RDBMS) database system cannot scale a huge amount of data. With Hadoop, businesses can run numerous applications on thousands of nodes involving thousands of terabytes.
- Secure Data: Big Data technology is also used to secure the data by analysing the data in-depth by accessing the quantitative differences from the type of data extracted.
- Cost Beneficial: Scaling and storing data with the help of traditional database (RDBMS) system would be very expensive as processing a vast capacity of data would lead to much higher costs to the company. Hadoop is designed in a manner that has architecture and computing that enables a company to affordably store all the company data.
- Flexible: Hadoop is so flexible that it accesses new data sources. A business can also generate value by deriving new data insights from major data sources.
- Management: Security access controls and architecture of data are managed by Big Data technologies security analysis.
