BITSAT is basically an online entrance examination conducted on a yearly basis to reach out to students interested in engineering program at undergraduate level (B.E hons). It has its campuses located at Goa, Hyderabad and Pilani. The BITs organization is one of the most prestigious engineering institutes of India. Known for its well equipped library, study material, workshops, internet and computer labs, this institutes with its set of professionals and faculty members make sure that quality doesn't compromise at any cost.

Eligibility Criteria for BITSAT 2011

Students wanting to appear in BITSAT should have passed 12th with minimum aggregate of 80% in PCM in particular. In addition to this, they must possess a score of at least 60% marks in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. Also, candidates must keep in mind that only those whose are done with 12th class during 2010 session or are going to appear in 2011 shall be considered eligible for the BITS entrance exam.

Exam Format for BITSAT

BITSAT is an online test format consisting of 150 objective type questions. The test is mainly of three hours duration. Each question includes four options. The test consists of five segments:

  • Chemistry (40marks)
  • Physics (40 marks)
  • Mathematics (45 marks)
  • Logical Reasoning (15 marks)
  • English Proficiency (15 marks)

For every correct answer a candidate scores 3 marks whereas for every wrong answer there is a negative marking.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR BITSAT 2011

Students can download their Hall tickets along with instruction sheet from period starting 2nd week of April up to last week of April 2011.

BITSAT online exam shall begin from 11th of May and shall continue up till 10th of June 2011.

Results shall be declared on July 1, 2011.

Things to Remember

  • For candidates who have appeared in 12th class exams more than once, only their latest performance shall be taken into account.
  • Those who completed their schooling in 2009 or prior to that are NOT eligible to sit for the BITSAT 2011.
  • Students are purely admitted on basis of merit.
  • Students are not permitted to bring in their mobiles, logarithmic tables or calculators inside the test centers.
  • If required students shall be provided with blank papers to deal with rough work.
