To bridge the gap between need and availability of skilled professionals in the field of hardware and networking , Institute for Advanced Network Technology (IANT), is set to offer CompTIA world famous certifications to its students to ensure that the graduates are significantly advanced in hardware and networking skills as compared to graduates from other colleges in India, that lack such accredited training certifications.

The Indian share in the Remote Infrastructure Management segment, which employs a large number of networking professionals, is expected to touch $13-15 billion by 2013. Approximately 3.5 Lakh jobs are expected to be created in the RIM services’ sector, according to a NASSCOM-McKinsey Report.

IANT, an ISO 9001-2008 certified institute, has incorporated CompTIA certifications into its curriculum for students pursuing degrees and careers in IT.  Over the next two years, IANT expects to train and certify 5,000 students on CompTIA Network+ and 10,000 students on CompTIA Strata IT Fundamentals, said a CompTIA press release.

Talking of the partnership with CompTIA, Rahim Kherani, chairman, IANT said, “Academic Institutes cannot afford to lay back and wait for the government to do something. Instead, they need to be proactive and take measures to help the nation produce job ready professionals.”

“To tackle this challenge of lack of skilled professionals in India, CompTIA is partnering with training institutions in India. IANT is one of the largest training institutes in India and we’re prepared to assist them with new resources and support,” said Dennis Kwok, vice president, Asia Pacific, CompTIA.

IANT caters to over 10,000 students through its 110+ institutes across India. All its students will go through an intensive course in CompTIA Strata, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA security+ trainings and certifications, stated the release.

CompTIA certifications are globally recognised for a broad range of technology skills, including IT fundamentals, repair and technical support, networking, security, server, storage, Linux, project management, printing and document imaging, healthcare IT, green IT, cloud computing and soon, mobile technologies. IT professionals in India and around the world hold more than 1.7 million CompTIA certifications.
