DU MCA 2011 exam to be held on 4th July 2011

Students aspiring to get through Delhi University's prestigious Masters in Computer Application (MCA) program need to take the MCA entrance test on 4th July 2011. Considering the fact that MCA is an in-vogue computer science program, students across the nation take this DU MCA 2011 exam to enter the dynamic world of IT industry.

Every year DU organizes this MCA exam with huge hustle bustle and hullabaloo. Students too show their interest by appearing in these exams with sheer enthusiasm and hopes.

Exam Format for DU MCA 2011

The MCA exam consists of namely 2 parts:

  • Test I: Objective type questions
  • Test II: Comprehensive questions

Students appearing for MCA 2011 need to be thorough in areas like:

  • Verbal Ability or Proficiency in English
  • Reading Comprehension
  • Mathematics & Quantitative Aptitude
  • Test of Reasoning
  • Data Interpretation
  • General Knowledge and Current Affairs

Moreover, the exam consists of multiple choice questions. Each of these questions carry 4 marks each. Since there is a negative marking scheme, for every incorrect answer there shall be a deduction of 1mark. However, if one doesn't attempt an answer, no mark shall be deducted for that particular question.

Students shall be evaluated on basis of the following components:

  • Mathematical Ability
  • Computer Science
  • Logical Reasoning
  • English Comprehension

Syllabus for DU MCA 2011

  • Mathematics: the level of Mathematics shall be equivalent to the B. Sc. Program at University of Delhi.
  • Computer Science:
    • Introduction to Computer organization including:
      1. Data representation
      2. Boolean circuits and their simplification
      3. Basics of combinational circuits
      4. C - programming
    • Data types including:
      1. User defined data types
      2. Constants and variables
      3. Operators and expressions
      4. Control structures
      5. Modularity: use of functions, scope, arrays
  • Logical ability:
    • Problem-solving using basic concepts of arithmetic
    • Algebra
    • Geometry
    • Data analysis
  • English Comprehension
    • Correct usage of English Language 
    • Reading comprehension

Eligibility criteria for DU MCA 2011

  • One needs to be B.Sc. (Honours) Computer Science graduate (10+2+3 scheme) from University of Delhi or any other University recognized or equivalent to University of Delhi with an aggregate of at least 60% marks.
  • One must possess a bachelor's degree from the University of Delhi with atleast 1 paper in ‘Mathematical Sciences' under annual mode/ at least 2 papers in ‘Mathematical Sciences' in semester mode or an equivalent degree. Moreover, a student needs to ensure that he/she has secured a minimum of 60% marks at university level.

Students belonging to SC/ST category shall be provided a relaxation of 5% marks.

THINGS TO REMEMBER

  • Students appearing for MCA 2011 need to be at least 20 years of age on or before 1st October, 2011.
  • The admission tickets for this exam shall be sent via post only. In case a student fails to receive one, he/she must send a request to the department along with 2 copies of photograph and a proof of having sent the application. This must be mandatorily done 3 days prior to the entrance examination. Any queries after this shall not be entertained and issue of duplicate admission ticket shall be cancelled. Every candidate needs to show the admission ticket at the time of the test. In case a candidate fails to do so, he/she shall not be allowed to sit for the exam.
  • Students are required to bring along their stationary material like Pens/Ball Pens/Pencil Erasers. They also need to bring their own:
    • Ink / ball point pens
    • HB pencils
  • Students must note, if they use any other pencil than HB pencil their answer sheet may be rejected by the Optical Mark Scanner.

what are the salary prospects , after doing MCA from a reputed institute like D.U. , IIT etc..

why u r looking for salary f u r best in your area then u will get the best salary within 2 or 3 years
