NIMCET 2011 Exams to be held on May 15!

NIMCET 2011 Exams will be held on May 15 between 10 am to 12 noon and the reporting time is 9:30 am. Examinations will be conducted across various cities throughout India. The exams will be conducted by Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal and the NITs are fully funded by Government of India.

NIMCET is the National Level Entrance Test conducted by National Institute of Technology (NITs) for admission to their MCA program. NIMCET provides a gateway to some of the best NITs offering MCA course. Also, NIMCET is one of the hardest nut to crack at national level and admissions are based on the rank obtained in exam.

The entire curriculum and syllabus of Masters in Computer Application, provided by NITs are designed as per the prevailing IT industry standards.

Fee:

The entrance examination fee is Rs 1500 for both general and OBC, whereas for SC/ST the fee is Rs 750.

Eligibility:

All the Indian students who have secured 60% marks in the following are eligible to apply:

  • 12th level with Maths
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized university, with any one of the following subjects:

1.Mathematics
2.Computational Mathematics
3.Elementary Mathematics
4.Statistics
5.Business Mathematics
6.Elementary Statistics
7.Discreet Mathematics
8.Mathematical foundation of Computer Science

Other Eligibility Criteria:

  • Those students who have completed their degree from Open universities, approved by UGC /AICTE are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates appearing for their final examinations are also eligible to apply for NIMCET 2011.
  • Only natives of Tamil Nadu can claim State quota

Examination Pattern:

The exam will be of 2 hours. Each correct answer will carry four marks and for each wrong answer there will be a negative one mark. Candidates will be provided with an OMR sheet and a separate question paper. In total candidates will be given 120 multiple choice questions and cover the following:

Mathematics 45 questions
Analytical Ability and Reasoning 40 questions
Computer Awareness 10 questions
General English 25 questions
