Programme Structure of SMU BCA Programme

The university's BCA programme has a duration of three years and is conducted in six semesters. with total cumulative credits of 120. In the last semester, students can choose Artifical Intelligence or Image Processing as their elective.

Eligibility for BCA Programme at SMU

One can join the BCA programme at SMU after 10+2 or after completing 3-yr diploma from a State Board of Technical Education. If you have done an additional 6-month computer course from a reputed institute or have done diploma in IT or Computer Science, you might be allowed lateral entry to the second semester of the BCA programme. However, for lateral entry, students have to clear the first semester examination conducted by the university. Books for the first semester will be provided to the students by the university.

Fees for BCA Programme at SMU

The fees for the Sikkim Manipal University BCA programme is Rs.10,450 per semester (inclusive of exam and alumni fee). If you take lateral entry into the second semester of the BCA programme, you will have to pay an additional fee of Rs 3,800.
