CLAT 2017 Result

Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna had released the First Indicative Seat Allotment List on June 5, 2017. However, CLAT authorities withdrew the list late evening on June 6, 2017 as it had some errors. Revised CLAT 2017 First Indicative Seat Allotment List would be released by authorities by 9 pm today, June 7, 2017.

The official CLAT website informed on Late evening of June 6, 2017, that: "It is hereby notified that certain errors were spotted in the List uploaded in 5th June, 2017. The same list is withdrawn with immediate effect. The revised list shall be published (uploaded) by 11 pm on 6th June, 2017. Consequently dates of online payment of counselling fee of Rs 50,000 are extended up to 9th June 2017. Accordingly exercising the options for locking or shifting will be considered between 7th June, 2017 and 9th June, 2017 up to 10 pm". 

Further, elaborating on the revision of the First Indicative Seat Allotment List for CLAT exam, the official website informed at mid-night of June 6, 2017 that:

  As some inaccuracies crept in the first indicative seat allotment lists uploaded on 5th June, 2017, the lists are withdrawn. The revised lists will now be published (uploaded) by 9 pm on 7th June, 2017. Consequently dates of online payment of counselling fee of Rs. 50,000/- are extended up to 10th June, 2017. Accordingly exercising the options for locking or shifting will be considered between 7th June, 2017 and 10th June 2017 up to 4 pm. Candidates to please note the extended dates and ignore the dates announced earlier for payment of the counselling fee of Rs. 50,000/- and exercising the lock and shift options.  


Aspirants can also check the online counselling guidelines as well as search individual allotment on the official website of CLAT exam.

CLAT result was declared by Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna on May 29, 2017 at around 8:45 pm. CLAT 2017 was conducted on May 14. This year, more than 50,000 students registered for this national level law entrance exam. Out of this number, 44,576 students registered for CLAT UG exam and 6,108 candidates applied for CLAT PG exam.

Candidates can check their CLAT 2017 result on the official website of the law entrance exam by filling in their Login Account details which include their registered username and password that was used by them while filling the CLAT application form.

CLAT 2017 result will be prepared by the authorities on the basis a candidate’s score as well as the category to which they belong. Also, state specific and all India merit lists will be prepared separately for candidates belonging to different categories, like, Unreserved/SC/ST/OBC/Women/SAP for CLAT 2017 exam.

How to check CLAT 2017 Result

Step 1: Open CLAT 2017 official website.

Step 2: Click on the "CLAT 2017 Result" tab.

Step 3: Enter your registered email ID and password.

Step 4: Go the Score Card tab in the registered account and click on it.

Step 5: Check CLAT rank, score and qualifying status.

Step 6: Download CLAT 2017 scorecard and result sheet.

In a scenario where two or more aspirants score the same marks in the exam, CLAT tie-break is done while preparing the merit list. Tie-breaking in this national level law entrance exam is done as per the steps mentioned below:

  1. Candidate with higher marks in the legal aptitude section of CLAT 2017 is ranked higher.
  2. Candidate who has higher age (the older candidate) is ranked higher.
  3. Computerised draw of lots

Last year, CLAT Rank 1 holder was Viraj Ananth who secured 174.5 marks in the law exam. He was closely followed by Vansh Aggarwal and Ankur Singhal who scored 172.15 and 171.75 marks respectively.
