Q. What was your preparation strategy that helped you crack CLAT PG 2022?
A. I attempted CLAT 2021 as well, and secured rank 138, but since it's not considered a good rank for PSU Recruitments, I appeared for CLAT PG 2022. To prepare for the exam this year, I revised my preparation notes from my undergraduate degree, and followed the benchmark supreme court judgements. Moreover, my preparation for CLAT 2021 helped me a lot in achieving this rank in CLAT 2022. I consistently prepared for CLAT PG by dedicating at least 1 hour every day.
Q. Did you take any coaching for the exam?
A. No. I did not take any coaching, and relied on self-preparation for CLAT PG 2022. The exam pattern of CLAT PG is so vague and vast that no coaching institute is available for preparation classes.
Q. What were you parallelly occupied with when preparing for CLAT 2022 ?
A. My primary focus was Judicial Services Examination, and then I decided to consider CLAT for PSU recruitments to secure a job, meanwhile I prepare for my ultimate goal.
Q. Which books did you read to prepare for the CLAT PG exam?
A. Since, the syllabus of CLAT PG is different so I prepared with my UG notes. Besides, I referred to Youtube Channels for detailed analysis of Past Judgements, and also followed SSCOnline for legal research notes religiously.
Q. How did you deal with your strengths and weaknesses while preparing for the CLAT PG exam?
A. My CLAT 2021 attempt helped me understand my areas of improvement, therefore, for CLAT PG 2022, I focused on those areas. I ensured covering as many judgments as important for the preparation, and also improved reading comprehension skills, for the subjective part of the examination (120 questions based on 20 passages in 2 hours). Besides, I practiced online test series to improve my skills.
Q. What other exams did you take or are planning to take?
A. I am only focusing and preparing for the Judicial Services Examination to secure a post of Civil Judge, Junior Division.
Q. Any tips for students who are planning to take CLAT PG exam in future?
I would suggest that although the question paper pattern is different, the exam is not difficult, if one streamlines their preparation that they cover all the judgements in the fixed time. They should cover highlighted judgements in the past years. However, they must identify and refrain from insignificant judgements. I covered 60 judgements in detail, in my two years preparation strategy, but I can say not all judgements were worth spending time on. Therefore, one must focus on only significant judgements as highlighted in the media at the national level.
