Students’ Speak: What if your CLAT score is below expectations?
By: Yash Singhal
You can opt for dropping a year for the preparation, but only and only if you are confident enough that you can make it. Only then I will advise you to opt for dropping a year for preparation, says Yash Singhal.
Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is one of the most prestigious exams when it comes to admissions to National Law Universities (NLUs) in five-year integrated courses. Every year thousands of students appear for the exam and only a couple of them are able to get into these top-notch colleges. So what to do if you can’t be able to get into NLUs that accept admission through CLAT counselling?
First, don’t get disappointed by the result. No matter it is good or bad, according to you, it doesn’t make a sense of getting disappointed and stop hustling for the coming opportunities. Accept the result and plan for the future.
You can also opt for dropping a year for the preparation, but only and only if you are confident enough that you can make it in the next time. Only then I will advise you to opt for dropping a year for preparation. Otherwise don’t go that way, as it will only consume up your year with negligible benefit.
Top Law Colleges Apart from NLUs
Here is something interesting that you most of the students aren’t aware of. If you will see the history of CLAT you will get this. Most of the NLUs only accepts admission through CLAT counselling, we all are well aware of. But there are some baby NLUs also that haven’t joined the CLAT community but are one of the best universities and even some are better than the low ranked NLUs. In these baby NLUs, they accept CLAT score also for admission in their college. So you can apply to these colleges and can get one. Every state has one or two NLUs, and only some of them are in the CLAT community. So have a good chance of getting in NLUs. There are many other private and govt colleges apart from NLUs in which you can get admission and also can be a good lawyer.
There are many other entrance exams, in which you can appear. Like as I have said earlier, many baby NLUs are not a part of CLAT community till now. So they conduct their own exam for admission. Hence, if you haven’t prepared/attempted well in CLAT, you have another chance of getting a good college to get admission in a five-year integrated course. Many private institutions are also better than the NLUs and you can opt for these colleges.
There are many ways of catching new opportunities to make a good career, the only thing it demands from the aspirants is, hustling. You must not stand still and get disappointed by a single result. It is after all a just an exam, that can’t decide your future.
