Students who study mass communication might be aware of these two terms but usually, fail in differentiating the two job profiles. It is very tough to decide that what job profile to choose until you actually know why and how is it different.

Communication is what is the most important aspect of the human nature and particularly at your workplace communication is a must! If you don’t communicate in the right way, you are in trouble. Corporate communication is all about handling the internal communication and decisions in a very streamlined manner so that it can promote a good working culture in a corporate house. This job profile is very important for a corporate house because if one has to keep the employees happy or keep the working culture of the office very streamlined and positive, there is nothing better which can control it in the right way. Corporate communication is just a small slice taken out of public relations.

The basic difference

The difference between the two is a very thin line. PR is considered as a bigger concept, while corporate communication is just a slice of it. The basic difference between the two is that corporate communication is only related to internal communication and working environment, whereas public relations helps in branding of an organisation or a product in front of the public and communicates more externally than in the internal of the organisation.
