Eligibility criteria & test centres for IIMC entrance exam 2016

Indian Institute of Mass Communication has invited applications for admissions to postgraduate mass communication courses 2016. Mass communication courses offered at Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) are one-year postgraduate diploma courses.

The last date for receiving IIMC entrance exam applications is May 6, 2016. Candidates can fill the application forms in the online or offline mode by paying the entrance exam fee of Rs 1,200 (for General category candidates) and Rs 1,100 (for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped category candidates).

Interested candidates can secure admission in IIMC by appearing for the IIMC mass communication entrance exam 2016 followed by an interview. The entrance exams for IIMC course admissions are scheduled to be conducted on May 29, 2016 and May 30, 2016.

However, before appearing for the test, candidates need to ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria for IIMC entrance exam 2016.

IIMC Entrance Exam 2016: Eligibility Criteria

Any candidate who holds a bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognised college/university is eligible to apply for the PG Diploma course in mass communication at IIMC. Candidates who are appearing for their degree examination or are awaiting their graduation results are also eligible to apply.

Age criteria: All general category candidates born on or after August 1, 1991 are eligible to apply for IIMC entrance exam 2016. The age criteria for all SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates is birth on or after August 1, 1986 and for all OBC candidates is birth on after August 1, 1988.

Nationality: Only Indian citizens are eligible to secure admissions in mass communication PG Diploma courses at IIMC. However, five seats have been reserved in each mass communication course for NRI candidates.

IIMC Entrance Exam 2016 Test Centres

Candidates can mark their preference for test centre for IIMC exam at the time of filling the application form. In case no preference is marked by a candidate, IIMC will allocate the test centre location as per its own discretion.

The IIMC mass communication entrance exam will be conducted across 19 cities all over India.

Note: The test centre for Odia journalism entrance exam is in Bhubaneswar only. In addition, although a candidate has the option to choose the test centre for all other mass communication entrance exams, IIMC has the right to call any candidate at any test centre at his/her own expense.
