The Ministry of Human Resource Development has launched short films on preventive awareness campaign against COVID-19.

The Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank', has launched short films in multiple languages on the preventive awareness campaign against coronavirus, which has been created by the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU).

The topics of the short films are Social Distancing and Washing Hands. The short films have been shot in multiple languages including English, German, French, Arabic, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Hindi, and Telugu.

The Minister launched the short films on social media platform Twitter and also applauded the initiative taken by EFLU under University Social Responsibility (USR) scheme.

The awareness short films are available on the University's YouTube channel.

The video features students studying at the University. Each video talks about the necessity to follow hygiene practices like washing hands and social distancing, to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The short films by EFLU come at a time when most of the educational institutions around the country have shifted their focus to online teaching and methodology, to stay connected with students. The educational institutions are also opting for social media platforms to provide authentic information on not just academic activities but also about coronavirus containment. Delhi University has also begun 'DU Care For Neighbour' programme where it is encouraging constituent colleges to look after poor and homeless people in their vicinity during the lockdown.

Universities across the country have been shut to prevent coronavirus spread and have been taking unique measures to stay in touch with students and encourage observing of coronavirus protocols by the students.
