New management program at MICA
Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad has added another new course to its kitty - Post Graduate Certificate in Market Research and Data Analytics. This course will be offered in association with Ivory Education. The program will be globally available through world-class e-learning environment.
Richha Bhatnagar of Shiksha.com spoke to Kapil Rampal, Director, Ivory Education Private Limited to get more insight into this new course. Excerpts from the interview:
Q. What will be core learnings from this program?
The course pedagogy has been designed uniquely to meet the growing needs of the industry. This program will help students in gaining expertise in Market Research & Data Analytics. It starts with the theoretical overview and moves on to market research in detail and then analysing the data. The program also covers usage of SPSS and SAS including writing SAS codes and deriving output. It will follow a step-by-step approach where theoretical concepts will be followed by case studies and practical implementations.
The participants can attend the classes with broadband connectivity at their homes, offices or any other place of their convenience. The classes are held twice a week on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00pm to 1:30pm. This program will be in action from June 2012. In India, the program fee is kept at Rs. 85,000 (including 12.36% service tax).
Q. What kind of education background is required to apply for this program?
Candidates should have completed their graduation from any recognised institution. An aptitude test will also be conducted by the MICA depending upon the profile of a student.
Q. What are the job prospects after the completion of this program?
Job prospects are very good in this industry. There is a huge demand for such professionals from outsourcing companies. Before offering this program, conducted a survey which helped us in realising that there are ample of students who are interested in pursuing this program. So the things look pretty good!
Q. What are the benefits that students will reap from this program especially in monetary terms?
Salary is very high in this sector starting from Rs 4 lacs per annum. The growth prospects, in terms of profile are very good. We also have integration with several placement companies through which we help students in getting placed in best companies. Professionals-turned-students who are nominated by their companies won't get the placement benefit.
Q. What is the scope of this program?
The scope is immense; the industry is growing at an exponential rate. The number of openings for data analytics is mind-boggling. In most industries, numbers are used to take key decisions about the business. This program will give an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the analytics concepts, methodologies, and what are the softwares that are being used for it. They will also get hands on training by getting to work on real time projects.
Q. Do you provide placement assistance? How and where-in India or abroad as well?
It's available for both India and abroad. The collaborating partner, Ivory Education will help in imparting placement assistance to students.
Q. Is it designed for fresh graduates or working professionals?
Both are welcome to do the program. Graduates with statistical knowledge will be preferred. We also get some nominations from the industry and those nominations will play a key role.
