IIMC and Jamia Entrace Exam

Two of the country's most prestigious institutions compete to see which entrance exam is the most difficult to pass and which privileges are available. In this article, we will go over the two most important mass communication tests in the country: the JMI Entrance Exam and the IIMC Exam. Before we decide who is the stiffer opponent here, let's have a look at what the two universities have to offer in terms of courses and subjects.

Various entrance exams are conducted in India for mass communication, however, the two that stand out are IIMC and Jamia Millia Islamia. While Jamia Millia Islamia offers a wide range of diverse programs and courses, IIMC caters only to journalism and mass communication. Let us elaborate on the two colleges and their entrance exams which are conducted.

A:

Both the universities have their own distinvtive features. There is no substantial evidence to support whether Jamia is best or Delhi University. In order to get admission in either of the university, candidates will have to qualify in their respective entrance examinations. Jamia conducts the Jamia Milia Islamia Entrance Examination while to get admisison into the Delhi University candidates will have to qualify in the Common University Entrance Test (Undergraduation).

Q:   Which is better JMI or AMU for BTech?

A:

Both Aligarh Muslim University and Jamia Millia Islamia offers BTech course for a duration of four years. Talking about the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2023 rankings, AMU was ranked 32 in the Engineering category, whereas, JMI ranked 26th spot in the list. Which exam is tougher?

There is no definitive way to determine which admission exam is more difficult to pass. When it comes to applying for a course in journalism and mass communication, both entrance tests are regarded as the most important. We provide student reactions for you to better understand how the exam went like we did in 2019.

IIMC Entrance Exam Student Reactions

The reactions are from the students who attempted the exam in the year 2019:

Dharmendra: “This is my first attempt. As per the paper is concerned, it was a very good paper. It is focused on the recent issues going on in our country. Elections were very well covered in the paper. There was a question on climate emergency that Ireland has announced. I found the paper to be very precise.”

Aveek Banerjee: “It was a good paper. I found the paper to be easy. Questions from current affairs were based on the most recent events”

Bhavika Bharadwaj: “The paper was not that difficult. The overall paper was easy in terms of difficulty level. The paper was framed in line with the recent events. The grammar portion was quite interesting.”

Jamia Millia Islamia Entrance Exam Student Reaction

The reactions are from the students who attempted the exam in the year 2019:

Hari Prasad: “I applied for an MA in Mass Communication. I had studied the syllabus and knew the exam pattern and marking scheme so it was a bit easy for me to identify which sections carried more marks. I would say the questions asked were challenging to answer but I managed to use the syllabus notes. I will say the paper was moderate.”

Vishal: “Hello, I am appearing for the PG Diploma in Broadcasting. The paper was tough as many questions were quite technical. I will say that the questions were based on the syllabus but put on the paper differently.”

On this basis, the two entrance exams are moderate to crack, however, the main question that should be asked, is what advantage will one get on getting admission? While IIMC offers postgraduate diploma courses, Jamia Millia Islamia offers students a full-time regular course in Bachelor’s, Masters, and PhD courses. A full-time degree will be handed to the student on completion of the course in Jamia. The perks of getting a degree from Jamia are far greater than IIMC given the degree, the knowledge, the practicals, and even the placement.
