Interesting courses are on offer that could give you a chance to enter the world of showbiz, thanks to Whistling Woods, Mumbai, and Indian Film and Theatre Academy, Delhi.
Whistling Woods, the film, TV, animation and media arts institute, founded by noted film maker Subhash Ghai is all set to introduce two new courses, one on TV writing and the other on screenwriting.
The first programme will train students in the craft of writing for TV. Those who are 21 years and above can apply. The visiting faculty members include Aatsih Kapadia, Kamlesh Pandey, Purnendu Shekhar, Prem/Moti Sagar, BP Singh/Sridhar Raghavan and Anurag Kashyap among others.
The second programme is a diploma course in screenwriting. It will guide aspiring screenwriters to learn the basic principles of the craft. Those who are 18 years and above can apply.
Delhiites can do a six- month diploma course in acting offered at an institute in Delhi. Run at Indian Film and Theatre Academy, the course covers all aspects of theatre, television and film acting. The syllabi include sessions on voice and speech, body and movement, emotions and expressions, facing the camera, outdoor shoots and dubbing. The course will conclude with a course production in the form of a telefilm or a play which would be produced by the students.
