ICE or Institute of Creative Excellence of Ekta Kapoor to set up in DelhiLights, Camera, Action! With all the glamour and excitement around audio-visual media, careers in the television industry are becoming increasingly popular. The career prospects look even better when Ekta Kapoor, the lady who revolutionized the Indian television scenario, launches an Institute of Creative Excellence. Starting out from Mumbai in 2010, ICE a new world class media school is coming to Delhi in June this year.

Located in the South Extension area in Delhi, the institute aims at providing world class education while catering to the entire entertainment industry. It will include a variety of courses including Acting, Cinematography, Direction, Editing, Production, Scriptwriting, Sound, Modeling and VFX.

According to Anurag Gupta, CEO, 40% of the applications received at ICE Mumbai were from Delhi, which led to the decision to set up another branch here itself. He also said that Balaji, being a production house is always in search of talent and the institute will train students to make them industry ready. The very idea of starting the school originated from the concept of training the aspirants and contributing to the industry.

The Mumbai facility is located amongst the 13 Balaji studios where some of the most popular serials and films are shot, which also provides students live exposure to the industry. Students at ICE Delhi need not worry about losing out on the opportunity, as they will get to spend some time at the Mumbai campus for availing such exposure in certain projects, Gupta added.

Ekta Kapoor, also known as the small screen czarina, is popular for producing TV serials like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain and movies like Ragini MMS and The Dirty Picture. Gupta said that ICE is Ekta's brainchild, she has given a lot of thought to the curriculum and is on the advisory board.
