During its short but brilliant history, the course has carved a niche for itself and continues to be one of the most sought after courses on offer at the Delhi University. In the second year, students produce an inhouse newspaper and an e-paper, Spectrum.

As far as opportunities are concerned, sky is the limit. One can try hands in any of the streams be it print, electronic media, radio or the web media. A student may try the options with magazines, the Press Information Bureau, Central Information Service, websites, or community radio stations. They can handle press relations and also e-media. But all this requires a lot of hard work, disci- pline and understanding.
To be successful, one has to have a flair for writing, patience, knowledge of current affairs, nose for news, inquisitiveness, sharp memory, physical fitness and good command over the language.
Sensitivity, neutrality, balance of mind and heart, time management, never say no attitude, optimism, and having love and respect for the job are equally important.
