10 things you don’t know about FMS Delhi
In 2015, Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) Delhi completes 60 years of its existence. The MBA programme of the college is one of the most reputed programmes of the country.
The red building of FMS is a dream destination for many aspirants. It takes a lot of effort to join the FMS family. One has to work hard to enjoy the facilities provided by FMS.

Ranking amongst top B-Schools, FMS still tries to add further facilities to provide all kinds of opportunities to its students. Not to forget, the college has the lowest MBA tuition fees of Rs 25,000 (for two years).
In the occasion of 60th anniversary of FMS, Shiksha.com tried to find few lesser known things about the institute. Here’s a list some interesting things we found:
1. Festivities and Zeal
FMS Delhi organises festival twice in an academic year. First is the annual management fest, Fiesta (February 13-14) where students from other B-schools can participate and win exciting prizes from the best-in-class companies in each domain.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. If you are passionate about sports, music, acting, photography, etc., FMS Delhi has everything at its doorstep. Various societies are there which help in preparing you well. Then there is a sports-cum-cultural festival of FMS Delhi, Elysium, which provides opportunity to showcase your talent at national level.
2. Technology
FMS Delhi is the third B-school in India after IIM-Ahmedabad and Calcutta to introduce Bloomberg Terminal. Bloomberg is a financial group and their Terminal is the computer system that allows the users to know about the real-time data, news and analytics to know each and every update in the market.
3. Discipline
FMS Delhi has a 90% attendance policy. If anyone is below that then they are not allowed to sit in summer internship/final placement process.
4. Our time to give back
Vihaan, the social service society of FMS Delhi, organises an event named “Silent Auction”. In year 2014, the society collected Rs 1,30,000. In this event, students place a bid on fellow student’s items on offer. The items on offer can be anything – guitar classes, solving financial questions, Home-cooked food, besan ke laddoo, and even a coffee date. After the event, one week is given to students for executing their bids. After this, top bidder is given a prize and all the money deposited is donated to NGO for education of underprivileged.
5. Women Leaders of Today
Team Fiesta of FMS Delhi, is organising Women Leadership Talk Series, on February 15, 2015 and has invited Kiran Bedi as the chief guest of the event.
6. Murals
FMS Delhi has a separate NETHRA wall, where award-winning pictures clicked by FMS students, are put up for display.
7. Dance it all the way
For the first time in so many years, the Cultural Society of FMS has introduced a separate room known as Dancing room. It can be used for practicing purpose as well as for entertainment purpose, just to relax from study pressure.
8. New Beginning
Agamay (Literary club), Abhinaya (Acting club), Nethra (Photography club) and Aarohan (Music club) are the new clubs formed by Cultural society in 2014. And in the very first year, with the efforts Abhinaya, students of FMS Delhi won a Gold medal at IIM Lucknow annual festival and also won in many other competitions.
9. Transparency & regular feedback
Faculty here uses technology so that there is transparency from the beginning regarding the academics. Attendance, marks, etc, all are updated regularly and shared with students, so that they know where they stand and where they need to improve.
10. Proud to be a legacy
And to celebrate FMS@60, the institute is organizing 60 Guest Lectures in which prominent figures/alumni will come and share their experiences and insights about how to handle challenges faced by MBA students.
