CAT 2014 Results: The confusion continues
CAT 2014 Results were finally declared on December 27, 2014, at 5 pm. The results were declared on the official website.
However, not all students could see their results immediately. Till midnight, many students were yet to see their CAT 2014 results. The CAT website went down about 1 lakh users tried to log in at the same time.
Irritated with CAT website’s slow response, many students started to point fingers at CAT administration and TCS services. The results had already been delayed by a week. Finally when the results were declared, lots of students got the ‘too many users are connected, please try again after few minutes’ message till late into the night.
Take a look at the MBA colleges accepting CAT 2014 scores in the following cities:
Shiksha.com spoke to some CAT aspirants and found that quite a few of them were attempting to get a glance of their scorecard till the wee hours this morning. Some gave up last night and viewed their results only today morning.
The scorecard of CAT 2014 is in a PDF form. However, because the instructions weren't clear, a few aspirants did not know how to check their scores in the PDF. Also, it was reported that some students received empty scorecards.
After waiting for hours, Ashi Saluja found no score on her CAT 2014 scorecard. "There are no marks on my scorecard. It is empty." It is still unclear how they will be able to get their correct scorecards.
Apart from the technical glitches, some students felt that CAT 2014 results were not fair. Shiksha.com followed student’s interaction on social media and found that aspirants of slot two and slot four of CAT 2014 were not satisfied with their scores. Students complained of not scoring as per their performance in the exam. Some even observed that none of the students from slot two and four have scored more than 90 percentile.
After CAT 2014 results were out, it was discovered that there are 16 toppers with 100 percentile. Out of the 16, only one is a girl.

Interestingly, all coaching centres were surprised that there are 16 toppers. "According to our calculation, there should be eight or nine toppers. How can there be 16? Have they declared 99.99 percentile holders also as toppers," asked a head of a leading coaching group. But there are no more answers coming forth from IIM Indore or TCS.
So far it has not been easy for education portals and coaching centers to figure out the names of 16 toppers. Out of 16 toppers, Shiksha.com has successfully identified six toppers till now - Neha Manglik of BITS Pilani, Pranjul Gupta and Vishesh Patni from IIT Kanpur, Harshveer Jain and Anurag Reddu from IIT Bombay, and Soumyadeep Chakraborty of Javadpur University.
