CAT 2015 Analysis - Second slot of CAT 2015 exam has finally come to an end. Not many changes were observed in paper pattern when compared to CAT 2015 first slot exam analysis.
Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) section emerged as the most difficult and calculation-intensive section of the exam. Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) and Quantitative Aptitude (QA) sections were comparatively easy.

CAT 2015 question paper had three main sections – VARC, DILR, QA.
However, two sections were further divided into two sections, demarcating individual sections.

CAT 2015 Analysis
Analysis of CAT 2015 – VARC section
This section acted as a good exam starter with simple passages and easy-to-attempt questions. While some problems were direct-reference questions, some were indirect and thought-based questions. Three RCs had quick reading speed, while the remaining two were complex to understand with slow reading speed. Take a look at the table below:

CAT 2015 Analysis – DILR section
As mentioned above, this was the most difficult part of the entire paper. It was highly calculation intensive and time consuming. This section could very well be the deciding section of the exam.

Analysis of CAT 2015 Paper– QA section
While the overall section was easy and had questions from almost every topic mentioned in CAT 2015 syllabus. There 15 non-MCQ questions in this section.

Apart from the above, the section also had questions from

However, there were quite a few sitters. Candidates who successfully avoided them will be able to score well in CAT 2015 exam.

Good Attempt: 22 to 24 questions with 100% accuracy
Overall Conclusion about CAT 2015 Analysis
While VARC and Quant were easy sections, DILR emerged as the killer zone. Shiksha met quite a few CAT aspirants in both first and second slot, who complained how their performance suffered after DILR part, which was the second section. CAT 2015 student reaction and analysis. As a result, many aspirants were unable to perform well in Quant section, though it was an easy section.
CAT 2015 scores are used by more than 3000 colleges to admit students in various management courses. Post CAT 2015 review, soon all study centres will publish the CAT answers.
