CAT 2015 registration is all set to commence tomorrow. “Online registration for CAT 2015 is between the period of Thursday, 6th August 2015 10:00AM and Sunday, 20th September 2015 11:59PM,” informed the official website.

CAT 2015 exam will be conducted on November 29 in two sessions – forenoon and afternoon. Candidates can select up to four test cities, in order of preference. CAT authorities will try to allocate the best possible option as per availability to women candidates.

As per information from CAT authorities, candidates will receive 30 minutes to register for the exam. Thereafter, candidates will automatically be logged out (default). However, candidates can login multiple times.

We have created a list of items that candidates will need to keep ready before registering for the CAT 2015:

  • Valid and unique Email ID
  • Mobile number
  • Rs 1600 for General and NC-OBC Candidates [Rs 800 for SC/ST/PWD (DA)]
  • Valid credit, debit card or online net banking facility to pay Rs 1600. So make the necessary requirements on time.
  • Marks for Class 10th /SSC, Class 12th /SC, and graduation: It’s important to keep the marks, percentage and CGPA ready beforehand.
  • Candidates need to make sure that they fulfil all eligibility requirements. The basic eligibility requirement is Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) categories]. Points to remember before registering for CAT 2015

  • The data entered during registration will (CAT application data) will be treated as final. No changes will be permitted at a later stage. However, candidates will be allowed to rectify changes such as personal details - address, educational information or exam city preferences later on.

  • Right now, just the cities where CAT exam can be taken will be available during registration. The entire list of exam centres will be available on the CAT 2015 website from second week of October 2015.

  • If candidates make a mistake in filling out details for those fields which will affect selection process, such as Percentage of Marks, Category, Gender, Work Experience, etc, then candidates need to re-register with a new email ID. The CAT 2015 application will be considered for the latest registration and admit card will be issued for the same.
  • List of exam centres will be available on the website www.iimcat.ac.in from second week of October 2015. This list will be updated as more exam centres are allocated for CAT 2015. Currently, one can view all the exam cities where CAT exam can be given.
  • In case of integrated courses, candidates need to enter marks for bachelor’s degree as per university norms.
  • Candidates applying in SC/ST/PWD categories need to upload relevant certificates while registering. (The certificate should be in Hindi or English only).
  • The Registration/Application form is best viewed in Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome browsers.

Candidates can refer to online guides and videos while registering for CAT 2015.  One can also call on the toll free number 1-800-266-0207 or email at cathelpdesk@iimcat.ac.in.

Post registration, candidates will be able to use the system generated User ID and Password to log into the website. “Upon logging in, you will first see the Registration Summary page and then click on Go to Application Form. This will direct you to the application form page,” informed the official website.
