Who said that a candidate in final year of graduation cannot prepare for CAT examination or other entrance exams? Who said that it is not possible for a final-year candidate to crack CAT? Throw all such clichés out of mind. It is not true that final year students do not or cannot perform well in entrance exams. It’s just that an aspirant taking the exam has to manage time. Most of CAT 2014 exam toppers were students of final year.

So, the cliché of not studying for CAT 2015 and simultaneously clearing graduation has been nullified.

Now what? Waiting for the right time to study? CAT 2015 will be held on November 29, 2015 just three months away. Candidates in final year still have three-month time to prepare for the exam. Despite all the changes in CAT 2015 test pattern and conduction, one can still work hard to crack CAT 2015.

1. Time management
At first, sort out things. Do not get confused between studying for CAT 2015 and college studies. Create a timetable segregating time for CAT preparation and college studies. If a candidate attends coaching classes, devote time to self-study focusing both on exam preparation and college assignments.

2. Self-analysis
Knowing where you stand is very important before the preparation starts. A candidate must do a self-analysis of his/ her abilities, strengths and limitations. If an aspirant has been preparing for a long time, take out time for self-analysis to focus on strengths and weakness.

3. Set up targets
Setting up targets and goals improves one’s output and determination. Try and set short-term goals and long-term goals for self-motivation. This will also help students seek better results. It is difficult to reach destination unless one is clear about targets and goals to be achieved.

4. Put your 110% efforts
Now is the time when one has to put in extra efforts to do well in CAT 2015 examination. A normal study pattern is not sufficient to expect better CAT score and do well in graduation classes as well. One has to take out extra time and put extra efforts for everything to go smoothly. For instance, a candidate can plan his/ her day in such a way that CAT preparation hours should not intervene with other tasks. Try prepare for it the early morning or late night.

5. Balance
The balancing act between CAT preparation, college classes and coaching centre studies has to be maintained by an aspirant. Do not let one task of the day overlap another. Maintaining a balance between all tasks allows one to tackle things easily and helps in minimum wastage of time.
