CAT 2016 eligibility & test centres

Aspirants willing to register for CAT 2016 must check the eligibility criteria before registering for the exam. The eligibility criteria of CAT 2016 has been defined by IIM (Indian Institute of Management).

Applications of candidates who do not abide by the eligibility criteria will be rejected. Keeping this is mind, it is always advised to first check the eligibility criteria, and only then register for the exam.

The eligibility criteria for CAT 2016 is as follows:

  • The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology that should be of a duration of 4 years after 10+2/Post B.Sc./Post Diploma or
  • The candidate should hold a degree in B.E/B. Tech recognized by MHRD/UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by Institution of Engineers-India, AMICE by the Institute of Civil Engineers India).
  • A candidate holding a qualification that is recognised by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, and is equivalent to a UGC recognized University/Institution’s Bachelor’s degree is eligible for the exam.
  • The graduate applying for CAT 2016 should have secured a minimum aggregate of 50%, or equivalent CGPA.

 

Once the registration is done successfully, candidates will get access to their respective admit cards. Candidates must take a print out of these admit cards. When appearing for CAT 2016, candidates will have to produce the admit card before entering the exam hall.

IIM Bangalore likely to conduct CAT 2016

CAT 2016 official notifications will be declared by last week of June. The application process is expected to commence from first week of August. Like every year, this year too, the exam is likely to be conducted in the last week of November.
