CAT 2016: IIM Bangalore to conduct the exam this year

Taking over the reins from IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore is all set to conduct Common Admission Test this year.

According to reports, Prof Rajendra K Bandi, the faculty on Decision Sciences and Information Systems; Chairperson Admissions & Financial Aid, IIM Bangalore, has been appointed the convener for this year’s CAT. He is expected to bring about some welcome changes in the national level management entrance exam.

Sources in the IIMB confirmed to The Hindu that IIMB will be conducting the test this time around. A preliminary meeting to decide on further details will be held in the first week of June.

It is being said that this year’s test may turn out to be a more aspirant friendly one.

The nationwide test is scheduled to be held in the month of October/November 2016. IIM-Bangalore will conduct the exam in collaboration with TCS (Tata Consultancy Services). TCS has been conducting the exam since 2014. The IT firm had signed a five-year deal with CAT in 2014.
