CAT prep 2014: 6 videos to improve your Logical Reasoning

LR or logical reasoning tests the analytical and logical abilities of a candidate. It’s all about using simple logic and wits with some mathematics.

Some of the common subjects covered under LR are Blood Relations, Linear and Sitting Arrangements, Coding-Decoding, Direction Sense, Arrangements, Data Structures, Puzzles, Series, Clocks and Calenders.

According to our expert Ankur Agarwal from, “For these topics one can figure out an approach which suits them best, but, it is always better to get the analytical bent by practicing in order to tackle the unthinkable!”

In this article, we take a look at five LR topics through six preparatory videos:

Blood Relations

A thorough understanding of blood relations or relatives is the basic point here. One needs to know the names of all the relations from both paternal and maternal side along with generations. Generally, there three are kinds of blood relations:

  1. Single Person Blood Relations problems
  2. Mixed Blood Relations problems
