NMIMS School of Business Management, Mumbai is one of India’s premier business schools and has long been a leader in management education. The confidence and immense faith shown by various corporates over the years has emphasised its position in the industry. This has driven the institute to select its pool of students as those who have the knowledge are able to effectively apply it to real life situations. It believes in testing the applicant on three broad areas of management:

  • Values
  • Knowledge (GK and domain knowledge) and application to real life situations
  • Skills( leadership qualities, decision making, team work etc)

The GD Process:

The case-based discussion reflects the student’s thinking process. The case given would not only require knowledge of the market conditions but will also test your attitude towards work. A general habit of reading the newspapers daily will give you an edge over the others. This would help you relate to the topics better by relating them to practical situations around you. Please note that although the general tendency is to project the ideal self, understand that there is no right and wrong and so be your genuine self. The panelists are quick to catch any divergence in the behavior from true self. Team work and leadership skills are looked for along with your communication skills. Be considerate towards your teammate and work as a group.

Though there is a separate process for Human Resource (HR) and Core MBA program, both have a case-based discussion.

Interview Process:

The interview is an amalgamation of some general questions regarding your CV and a few current affairs questions. Being well versed with newspapers will be helpful. The interviewer looks for your effective communication, body language and application of knowledge. Do not try projecting yourself as someone you are not; just be yourself and you shall sail through smoothly. A little time spent on understanding yourself as a person might just help you in knowing your strengths and weaknesses. Self awareness helps in being confident in your skin and letting the interviewers know the right you.

Good luck for the process and hoping to see some of you in the college next year!!!
