HPU MAT Exam Day Tips
HPU MAT exam is held in last week of May. Candidates appearing for the Himachal Pradesh University Management Aptitude Test (HPU MAT) must check the exam day tips to avoid any hassle on the day of examination. HPU MAT exam day tips will help the test takers to maintain their cool, boost their confidence level and organise the things in the desired manner. Test takers must follow the guidelines and protocols set by the authorities for the exam day, failing which candidates will be disqualified.
HPU MAT exam is conducted for a duration of two hours (120 minutes). Candidates must apply their exam-taking strategy to attempt a maximum number of questions within the given time.

Know how to answer HPU MAT questions
As per the exam pattern of HPU MAT, the question paper will consist of a total of 200 questions. Candidates must know each question will consist of four options. Test takers must read the question carefully and select the correct option for each question.
Take the print of the HPU MAT admit card
HPU MAT admit card is one of the crucial documents that have to be carried out on the day of examination. Test takers must download the admit card from the official website of HP University and take the print of the same.
Candidates will not be permitted to enter the HPU MAT exam centre without an admit card. The hall ticket mentions the details about the candidate and exam.
Get the important documents ready
Along with the admit card candidates must not forget to carry the supporting documents for the verification process. Candidates can carry any of the following identity documents along with the admit card on the day of examination:
- Voter ID card
- Aadhar Card
- Driving license
- PAN card
- Employee ID card
Carry your own stationery
Test takers must carry their own required stationery. No candidates will be permitted to ask for anything from other aspirants. In such a case candidates will be disqualified from the HPU MAT admission process.
Don’t pick any new topic
Candidates must not pick any new topic on the day of the examination as it will add to the confusion and anxiety on the exam day. Hence test takers must avoid any new topic from weak areas and rather revise the topics already prepared.
Reach the exam centre on time
Candidates are advised to reach the exam centre an hour prior to the given time. Candidates will have to go through the verification process before entering the examination centre. Hence, test takers must avoid last moment rush to conduct a smooth process.
Follow the COVID-19 guidelines
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, candidates must follow the prescribed protocols stated by the government to ensure the safety of themselves and others. Candidates must not forget to wear their masks and carry sanitiser and water bottles.
Test takers must maintain social distancing during the frisking and verification process.
Pay attention to special details
While attempting the questions candidates must pay special attention to the words like ‘some’, ‘all’, ‘none’. Candidates must look for such details in the question to avoid any silly mistakes while answering the question.
Don’t waste time on a single question
While attempting the questions candidates must not spend much time on solving one question. If the test taker finds the question to be time consuming or difficult move to the next question to save time. Candidates must manage time to solve a number of questions with accuracy within the given duration.
Avoid restricted items
Test takers will not be allowed to carry restricted items like mobile phones, paper, calculators, or any other electronic gadget at the examination centre. Candidates will also not be permitted any kind of books inside the examination hall. Aspirants must hand over their electronic gadgets or any other restricted items to their parents/guardians. The Institute will not be responsible for any loss of items. Any candidates found with the restricted item inside the examination hall will be exempted from the admission process to Himachal Pradesh University.
