IGNOU MBA Admission 2024: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has closed the registration window the IGNOU admission for MBA under July 2024 session. Candidates can fill the IGNOU MBA application form online on the official website, ignou.ac.in. After filling the form, IGNOU will shortlist candidates based on their past academic records.

IGNOU MBA Admission 2024: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates aspiring for IGNOU MBA admission must fulfil the eligibility criteria before proceeding to fill the application form. IGNOU MBA eligibility criteria is mentioned below:
Master of Business Administration (MBA) Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for MBA and specialised MBA courses (except Banking and Finance) offered by IGNOU are as follows:
- Candidates must have completed a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
- Minimum aggregate of 50 per cent is required in the qualifying degree course.
- Reserved category candidates need a minimum aggregate of 45 per cent in the qualifying degree course.
- No upper or lower age limit is pre defined by IGNOU for MBA admission.
- No work experience is mandatory for admission in the MBA program offered by IGNOU.
Master of Business Administration (Banking & Finance) Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have completed a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
- Minimum aggregate of 50 per cent is required in the qualifying degree course.
- Reserved category candidates need a minimum aggregate of 45 per cent in the qualifying degree course.
- Candidates should have passed the CAIIB exam of the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance, Mumbai.
- Candidates must have work experience of at least two years in the banking or financial services sector.
IGNOU MBA Registration 2024
IGNOU MBA admission forms are to be submitted online on the official registration website ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. Candidates who are not residents of India will have to fill and submit the application form on a separate website, ignouforeigniop.samarth.edu.in. No candidate is required to send the hard copy of the admission form to the regional centre.

1st Step: Visit the official website of IGNOU, ignou.ac.in
2nd Step: Click on the tab for ‘Register Online’ from the main menu
3rd Step: On the registration portal, complete the one time registration by creating username, password, etc.
4th Step: Login and fill the mandatory fields in the IGNOU MBA admission form
5th Step: Upload required documents
6th Step: Pay registration fee and programme fee, as applicable.
Once the admission form is submitted online, the students can track the admission progress from the login dashboard. IGNOU sends a message on the registered mobile number and email ID once admission is confirmed.
IGNOU MBA Admission 2024: Re-Registration
Candidates filling the registration form have to pay the programme fee for the first semester of IGNOU MBA course. For each semester, candidates will have to pay the fee along with the re-registration form submission. IGNOU MBA re-registration forms are to be submitted online on the official website, ignou.ac.in. IGNOU also provides the facility for submission of the re registration form in an offline mode, if the same is not available online. Candidates can submit the offline re-registration forms at the regional centres.
IGNOU MBA Fees
While filling the IGNOU MBA admission form, candidates need to pay the registration fee as well as the programme fee. IGNOU MBA fees is to be paid online via net banking, debit card/credit card, or UPI.
IGNOU MBA Application Form Fee
Candidates will not get refund of the registration fee for IGNOU MBA admission in any circumstances. The space below mentions the IGNOU MBA application fee:

NOTE:
- Candidates will find the IGNOU MBA fees structure in the course prospectus available on the official website, ignou.ac.in.
- The fee mentioned above is exclusive of any examination fee and development fee, TEE fee, convocation fee, any late fee, etc.
- Candidates will have to pay each semester fee separately at the time of registration and re-registration before each semester.
- Candidates who are eligible for fee concession must upload an income certificate issued by an Authorised Government Agency.
IGNOU MBA Course Fee for Reserved Categories
IGNOU provides an exemption of MBA course fee to the candidates who belong to SC and ST categories. Candidates can know about their eligibility by contacting the regional centres. Eligible candidates can get the fee exemption for one programme only. Eligibility to obtain the fee concession under this stream is as follows:
- Candidates who belong to SC or ST category
- Candidates must not be employed
Besides the above mentioned conditions, candidates who are availing any kind of scholarship or fee exemption from other agencies. Candidates are also marked ineligible if the income of parents or guardians exceeds INR 2.5 lakhs within one financial year.
IGNOU MBA Fee Refund Policy
IGNOU will allow refunds as per the policy specified policy. The refund of programme fee is allowed on following grounds
- Multiple payments by the candidate for the same course due to transaction failure (complete fee is refunded with registration fee)
- If candidate applies for more than one non– permissible programme in one session (Fee for one programme will be retained based on the choice of the student after deducting the registration fee)
- Rejection of admission by the University due to ineligibility (only programme fee is refunded)
- In cases where the University decides to withdraw the programme (full fees is refunded along with the registration fee)
IGNOU will also allow refund in case the student does not wish to pursue the course. However, the refund rules for vary based on certain conditions mentioned below:
- Full programme fee is refunded after deducting the registration fee before the confirmation of admission.
- Refund is allowed within 15 days of admission confirmation after deducting INR 500 from the programme fee.
- IGNOU allows refund within 16-90 days after the admission confirmation after deducting INR 1000 from the programme fee.
- No refund is allowed after 90 days from confirmation of admission.
IGNOU OPENMAT for MBA Admission
IGNOU offers direct admission to MBA courses. However, before the policy for direct admissions came into picture, IGNOU conducted the OPENMAT exam for MBA admissions. IGNOU OPENMAT was conducted in two sessions annually, that is for January and July sessions. IGNOU might revamp the MBA admission process in the future to bring back OPENMAT exam for MBA admissions. However, there is no official confirmation for the IGNOU OPENMAT exam to be brought back into the MBA admission policy.
