The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was set up in 1963 by the Government of India. The 54 year old institute trains students in foreign trade management both for corporate sector and Government agencies.

Admission to the prestigious institute takes place through a multi layered process including a written test, essay writing and GD/PI.

IIFT 2017: Application form and process

Every year, the process begins in the month of November and the final selection is completed by March. In 2015-2016, the entrance test was conducted on November 22, 2015 and the results were announced on December 14, 2015. The final selection was announced on March 18, 2016.

The total number of seats offered by IIFT Delhi and Kolkata campuses is 210 and 140 respectively, making the total number of intakes to be 350.

Here’s the eligibility criteria for IIFT 2017:

• The candidate must have a recognized Bachelor’s degree of atleast 3 years duration in any discipline.

• Candidates in their final year of graduation can also apply. However, they will have to submit the proof of requisite qualification by October 7, 2017.

• There is no age limit for the applicants.

IIFT announces final selection list for MBA 2016-18 batch

The IIFT brochure states, “Admission of the candidate who joins the programme on provisional basis but fails to qualify in the Bachelor's degree examination is liable to be cancelled forthwith. Such candidate should immediately inform the Institute on declaration of his/her results. Admission of candidates who do not inform the Institute of such a situation will automatically stand cancelled. No request for extension of time for re-evaluation, etc. will be entertained”.
