No change in Top 20 percentile criteria for JEE 2013

Despite the suggestions made by different IITs, the Joint Admission Board (JAB) of the IITs has reportedly decided to not change the eligibility criterion for admission or the number of students to appear for JEE Advanced exam next year. According to the compromise formula, 1,50,000 students will be allowed to sit for the JEE Advanced, provided they are in the Top 20 percentile of their respective board exams.

IIT Delhi had recommended that for JEE 2013, students who get 60% and above in their board exams should also be allowed to appear for JEE Advanced exams and get a chance to compete for admission to IITs. Read more

IIT Delhi had also suggested that the JEE Advanced should be subjective in nature and the number of students allowed to appear for it should be restricted to 50,000. Know more
