IIM Ahmedabad's audited placement report of 2018 reveals fall in international salary and rise in domestic packages for the second consecutive year.
In the recently released audited report of IIM Ahmedabad’s 2018 PGP batch placement process by the Indian Placement Reporting Standard, it has been noticed that the premier management institute has seen a fall in highest international salary offer as compared to 2017. However, the highest domestic offer this year was reported to be much higher than 2017.
This year, the highest domestic salary offered was Rs 72 lakh per annum, Rs 19 lakh more than the highest domestic salary of Rs 53 lakh per annum in 2017. The domestic front has seen a steady rise in offers since 2016.
Unfortunately, on the international hiring front the institute faced major disappointment. The Highest international salary offered in 2018 fell to Rs 66 lakh per annum, a drop of Rs 12 lakh. In 2017, the highest international salary offered was reported Rs 82 lakh, a massive dip from previous years. This fall is being attributed to depreciating value of Indian Rupee as against US Dollar.
The Median salary offer for IIM Ahmedabad graduates has not seen any significant rise from last year. This year the median domestic salary offer was recorded at Rs 23 lakh per annum which is only Rs 1 lakh increase from last year.
