IIM-Ahmedabad summer placements: BCG emerges as top recruiter with 16 offers
The summer placement process for the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) class of 2016 at IIM Ahmedabad concluded with the participation of 110 firms. The Boston Consulting Group emerged as top recruiter with 16 internships.
Twelve PGP students opted out of the summer placement process to pursue their own ventures under the guidance Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE).
“Among global investment banks, Goldman Sachs was the largest recruiter, having picked 9 students for roles in financial markets, investment banking and financial strategy. In the FMCG sector, HUL made 9 offers for various roles, such as sales and marketing and finance. Amongst general management firms, Bharti Airtel made 11 offers, which was the highest. In the technology sector, Amazon was the largest recruiter having extended 9 offers to students for roles in marketing, operations, product marketing and product management,” informed the institute.
The summer placement process was held in clusters (November 11, 14 and 17). Various firms were grouped into cohorts (based on the profiles offered). In each cluster, some cohorts were invited.
This year, students were provided the allowed to make a ‘dream’ application to any firm of their choice in a subsequent cluster even with an offer in hand.
