Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta has announced the shortlisting criteria for admission to PGP-PGDM Batch (2016-18).

Till last year, IIM Calcutta gave about 77% weightage to CAT, 10% weight to Class X scores, 10% weight to Class XII scores and 3% for women candidates.

This year, the institute is giving 67% weightage to CAT, 15% weight to Class X scores, 15% weight to Class XII scores and 3% for women candidates.

According to the notification on IIM Calcutta's website, candidates will be short listed on the basis of CAT 2015 score, past academic performance and various other factors.

Candidates will first be shortlisted for Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT). Then a final merit list of candidates will be created using several weightages.

The shortlisting for PI will be conducted in two stages:

Stage I: Candidates need to achieve the minimum section-wise and overall percentile in CAT 2015 as per Table 1 below:

Stage II: Calculating composite scores for short-listing for PI stage

In the next stage, the Composite Score (CS) will be calculated on the basis of CAT 2015 score, Class X and Class XII aggregate marks/percentages and gender diversity factors.

The following method will be adopted for allotting points for Class X and Class XII percentages of marks based on aggregate scores:

 “The final selection list will be based on merit in each category; minimum qualification on the above mentioned criteria would not automatically qualify the candidate for admission into IIM Calcutta,” informed the official website.
