IIM Raipur announces shortlisting criteria for PGP batch 2016-18

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur has announced the shortlisting criteria for Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), batch 2016-18. This year, the PGP batch size will be around 140.

IIM Raipur will give weightage to the following during the admission process :

  • CAT 2015 scores
  • Performance in Personal Appearance (PA) process – Written Analysis Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI)
  • Candidate profile (academic and work experience)

Admission process will consist of two stages:

  1. Shortlisting candidates for WAT/PI
  2. Final selection of candidates post WAT/PI

 

Stage 1

In the first stage, CAT 2015 percentile / scores will be used to shortlist candidates for WAT and PI. The tentative category-wise minimum percentile is as follows:

Candidates fulfilling the above mentioned percentiles will be called for Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). IIM Raipur will only consider CAT scores for shortlisting performance of a candidate.

According to the official notice, “The IIM Raipur Admission Committee will decide the number of candidates to be called for PA process on the basis of short listed merit list prepared for each category. However, if the actual number of shortlisted candidates were found to be less (more) than the required number of candidates to be called for PI/WAT category-wise, then the overall as well as section wise minimum score would be reduced (increased) to get the desired number of candidates.”

In the next stage, the institute will consider the following weightages during the final selection of candidates:

Conclusion

IIM Raipur has given a lot of weightage (62%) to CAT 2015, WAT and PI. So applicants, who do not have a good academic profile or work experience can still aspire to join IIM Raipur by preparing well for CAT 2015, WAT and PI rounds.
