The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi has announced the admission criteria for their two-year flagship programmes – Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM). 

IIM Ranchi has released two separate documents notifying the admission and shortlisting criteria of the two programmes. To be shortlisted for the programme, candidates need to appear for CAT 2015. 

Here’s a look at the admission criteria of both the courses separately: 

  

Admission criteria for PGDM 2016-2018 

Candidates will be shortlisted for PGDM course based on four factors: 

·         CAT scores 

·         Personal Interview (PI) 

·         Written Ability Test (WAT) 

·         Candidate profile 

The PI & WAT process will be common to all the six new IIMs, namely, Ranchi, Rohtak, Raipur, Tiruchirappalli, Udaipur and Kashipur. IIM Kashipur will conduct the CAP for all new IIMs. 

  

Stage 1 

In the first stage, candidates will be shortlisted on various components as mentioned below:

“The above cut-off percentile figures are just indicative and actual CAT percentile cut-offs are expected to be close to the cut-off for previous years. The shortlisted candidates of all the six new IIMs will be merged to make a combined short-list for further processing,” informed the official notification. 

  

Stage 2 

Candidates fulfilling the above criteria will now be called for PI & WAT process. 

“Personal interviews and written ability test are planned to be conducted at five different centres namely Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore. The exact dates for PI & WAT will be communicated to shortlisted candidates in due course of time. The common PI & WAT for the six IIMs will be coordinated by one of the six IIMs named above,” informed the institute. 

  

Stage 3 

In the final stage, admission offers will generated on the basis of a merit list. This consolidated merit list (CML) will contain the following components:

Candidates appearing for PI & WAT process at IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Bangalore and IIM Kozhikode do not need to appear for the interview and test again. Their scores 

Only the rest of the candidates need to appear for the Common Personal interview and Written Ability Test of the six new IIMs.
