IIM Sambalpur is yet to announce its admission policy and shortlisting criteria for PGP batch 2016 -18. The institute commenced with its first PGP batch a few months ago.

CAT 2015 results have been declared! Check details here.
Stage 1: Criteria for Eligibility to be considered for admission to PGP
The following cut-offs will be used for selecting eligible candidates for all subsequent stages.
Stage 2: Criteria for Final Selection of the Candidates
Next, shortlisted candidates had to express and reconfirm their desire to pursue PGP in management at “IIM Sambalpur” within a stipulated date.
Thereafter, candidates will be shortlisted in the following manner:
a. CAT score
The institute will now look at the applicants’ CAT performance (percentile obtained in sections 1&2, where section 1 is QA & DI and section 2 is VA & LR).
Performance in the two sections of CAT 2014 will comprise 55% of the final score of the candidate. This 55% consists of 30% for VAP and 25% for QAP, where
VAP = (CAT VA percentile of the applicant/ Maximum VA percentile)
QAP = (CAT QA percentile of the applicant/ Maximum QA percentile)
b. Past Academic Performance (PAP) score:
“Here, we look at the applicants’ academic performance (marks obtained) in 10th Standard Examination, 12th Standard Examination and Bachelor’s Degree Examination. For 10th and 12th Standards: The eligible applicants, as obtained in stage 1 above, will be assigned rating scores ‘A’ and ‘B’ based on their percentage of marks obtained in 10th and 12th standard examinations respectively. For Bachelor’s Degree: The eligible applicants as obtained in stage 1 above will be assigned a rating score ‘C’ based on the percentage of marks received in the Bachelor’s degree,” stated the institute.
PAP Score for the candidate: PAP = (0.30*A+0.35*B+0.35*C)/10
b. Work Experience (WE) score formula
WE = 0 for w <= 6
WE = 0 for w > 48
WE = w/24 for 6 < w <= 24
WE = 1 – ((w-24)/24) for 24 < w <= 48
Final Selection
“Selection at this stage will strictly be based on the ranks of the candidates computed for each category (General/SC/ST/NC-OBC/DAP) on the basis of their Final Scores (FS). The numbers selected in different categories will be in proportions mandated by law,” stated the institute.
FS = 0.55* (CAT 2014 TP score) + 0.30 * (PAP Score) + 0.15 * (WE Score)
