IIM Trichy increases PGPM intake by 70 from this academic year

The Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli also known as IIM Trichy, has decided to increase the student intake for its Post Graduate Program in Management by 70.

The PG program, which was announced in 2011, had a strength of 110 students so far. While 110 seats have already been filled for this academic year, the management is considering offering 70 seats to wait list candidates.

With the additional PGP seats, the total strength of the institute will increase to over 300.

The institute will shortlist the candidates for WAT and PI on the basis of their CAT 2015 scores. the ones who are on wait list can analyse their chances with the help of the following table:

Further, the selection of candidates will be based on their combined performance in CAT, WAT and PI along with their work experience and performance at undergraduate level.

While the institute is currently functioning from a temporary campus at NIT Trichy, the increase in student intake is not likely to affect the functioning as it will soon move to its permanent campus.

Telangana government plans IIM in Warangal

The new permanent campus on 170 acres at Chinna Suriyur is due completion by September-October 2016.  The construction work was expected to be completed by May 2016, but was delayed due to State elections.

The 170 acres campus is likely to have 20 buildings with administrative block, faculty housing, staff housing, food court, recreational club, three libraries, separate hostels for men and women and artificial ponds. The new campus can accommodate 400 students.

IIMT is the eleventh IIM and was instituted on January 4, 2011. PGPM course was introduced in the same year.
