IIM Visakhapatnam summer placement 2015-17: 100% placement for maiden batch

The very first batch of IIM Visakhapatnam (PGP class of 2015-17) recorded 100% summer placement. These placement records bring an end to the speculation whether the newest batch of the recently established institute would be accepted by the industry. Recently, 6 IIMs were established, and IIM Vishakhapatnam is one of them and is being mentored by IIM Bangalore.

IIM Visakhapatnam started its operation in 2015, and this year conducted its first placement. 33 companies offered various roles to 48 students (from the batch of 49 students). One student opted out of the placement process to pursue entrepreneurial venture.

The entire placement took place in two phases – the first was a joint process of IIM Bangalore and IIM Vishakhapatnam, and was conducted in November 2015 first week. 31 students were selected from the batch as a part of first phase of summer placements. The second phase was spread over three months and the rest of the students were recruited successfully.

The maximum number of offers in consulting and banking were made by Ernst & Young, and KPMG. The domain of technology saw offers from names like Capgemini, Xiaomi, Sutherland Global, Directi, SkyQuest, Mphasis, Mindtree. Key product management and project management internships were offered by internet companies like IITIIMShaadi.com, Hopscotch, Mauj.com, Channelplay, and Furlenco.
