The Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) have added another 115 seats, taking the total number to 3,335 across the 13 IIMs. The IIMs are now anticipating an increased number of registrations for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2013.

After a significant increase in seats last year, the registration number went up to 2,14,068. The IIMs are expecting a 10% increase in registration this year. “This year’s CAT students will have greater opportunity for admission into the IIMs,” said Professor Rohit Kapoor, CAT 2013 convenor.

The IIMs are also expecting a bigger participation by women candidates ever since extra points are being awarded to them during admissions. Women taking CAT exam has steadily increased from 53,700 in 2010 to 56,000 in 2011 and 60,800 in 2012.

This year, CAT will be held in a 20-day test window October 16 to November 11. The registrations open on August 5. For more details, click here.
