IIT Jodhpur to offer MBA programme beginning this year; apply now

IIT Jodhpur has announced that it will offer MBA programme at its new 'School of Management & Entrepreneurship' from the academic session beginning July 2020.

IIT Jodhpur has started offering MBA programme at its new 'School of Management & Entrepreneurship' from this year. The admission to the MBA programme is open via the Common Admission Process (CAP) of the new IIMs. The programme will commence in July 2020.

The marks entry window for the new IIMs is likely to open in the third week of January 2020. Candidates must check the official website of IIT Jodhpur regularly as the window is expected to stay open for entry of score only for three to four days.

Thereafter, on the basis of score entered, IIT Jodhpur will shortlist the candidates for GD/PI. The score entry window for older IIMs was opened for candidates on January 10.

The IIT Jodhpur MBA programme will be a "tech-management combo", the first year of which will be a foundation course, while the second will offer specialisation in different streams.

According to Santanu Chaudhury, Director, IIT-Jodhpur, “Most of the typical MBA programmes are losing their charm due to AI and analytics-led technology trends and the emergence of "new age corporations". This scenario is asking for a newer skill set and value propositions in MBA programmes."

IIT-Jodhpur has been working with a few business schools of repute from Europe, North America, Asia and Australia to provide international exposure to the students.

"In today's scenario, IIT campuses are much closer and capable to play a bigger role in realizing ambitious national goals. What they need is to diversify academics to newer disciplines where technology influence is deep and wide," Chaudhury said.
