IRMA has released the IRMASAT admission 2025 dates. Registrations for PGDM (RM) 2025 have commenced. Admission to PGDM (RM) will conclude in June 2025. Check the latest exam pattern and selection process here.

Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA) has released the PGDM (RM)  admission dates. Candidates seeking admission to PGDM (RM) must check the IRMA admission process 2025. Earlier, IRMA conducted the IRMASAT exam for admission to the PGDM (RM) programme. Admission to IRMA’s PGDRM course is done based on CAT/XAT/CMAT scores. The admission process includes – Application submission and Personal Interview (PI). The IRMA application forms are available online and the last date to submit the application form was January 10, 2024. In this article, candidates can know the detailed admission process, important dates and steps to apply.

IRMA Eligibility Criteria 2025

Check out the detailed IRMA eligibility criteria below:

  • Students applying for the PGDRM programme must be a graduate in any discipline from a university that is state or centrally-recognised.
  • Students must have scored at least 50 per cent aggregate or equivalent CGPA. This aggregate is 45 per cent for SC/ ST/ DAP.
  • Students in their final year of the examination are also eligible to apply, provided they submit proof of qualifying the final year by September 2025, failing which their candidature will be cancelled.
  • Students must have scored 85 percentile or above in CAT 2024, XAT 2025 or CMAT 2025. These students will be eligible for getting shortlisted for Merit-based Calls.
  • Students must have scored 80 percentile or above in CAT 2024, XAT 2025 or CMAT 2025 and should fulfil the Profile-based Call criteria.

Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Students:

  • The student must be a Graduate in any stream with at least 50% aggregate or equivalent from a recognised university.
  • They must have appeared in GMAT/GRE (from 2016 onwards) and have a score that meets the minimum cut off criteria set by IRMA.

Eligibility Criteria for Sponsored Candidates:

  • The student must hold a Bachelor's degree, in any discipline, from a recognised university/institution.
  • The student should have worked with the sponsoring organization for a minimum of two years (as of July 1, 2025) as a regular employee on a full-time basis.
  • The sponsoring organization should be willing to grant uninterrupted leave to the student (if selected) for the period of study at IRMA.
  • The sponsoring organization should undertake to make arrangements for payment of fee and other dues of the applicant to IRMA.
  • If rejoining within three years for completing the second year of the programme to obtain a “PGDRM”, she/he must be working with the same organisation that sponsored her/him for the CRM and she/he needs to acquire a “NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE (NOC)” from it.
  • There is no age limit for applying to IRMA.

IRMASAT 2025 Selection Process

The IRMASAT 2025 selection process includes two steps; i.e. Written Ability Test and a Personal Interview. Read below to know more about the two:

IRMA Written Ability Test (IWAT): Shortlisted candidates will be called for the next round of selection, where they will have to appear for a Written Ability Test. Candidates will be assigned a topic on the spot to write on in about 200-300 words. It will be a paper-based test for 30 minutes. The WAT round is designed to evaluate the candidates' rural aptitude as well as written communication skills, creative and analytical thinking skills, personal expression and overall suitability for the programme. 

Personal Interview (PI): A Personal Interview is conducted to test the student's knowledge and understanding of rural issues of the country and find out if he/she has the aptitude to fulfil the roles and responsibilities of a management professional operating in cooperatives, NGOs and development organisations. A Personal Interview is a more personalized round in which the students get to interact face-to-face with the panellists or selectors. Students are judged on their communication skills, aptitude for the rural management field and suitability for the programme.

The Personal Interview is conducted offline. Students can choose two preferred cities while filling out the IRMA 2025 application form. The offline PI round will be conducted in 13 cities as follows:

Selection Criteria for IRMA 2025 Admission

For IRMASAT Admissions 2025, IRMA will select candidates under two categories:

  1. Merit-cum-profile based call
  2. Merit-based call (Non-Profile Based Call)
    Candidates who fulfil the following criteria may be shortlisted for Merit-cum-profile based calls:
  • Graduation in: Development, Agriculture, Dairy, Public policy, Sustainability, Veterinary Sciences, Food Technology
  • Work experience in the Development Sector, Dairy, Public Policy
  • Excellence: Graduation from top universities and colleges

A minimum qualifying percentile has been fixed for the selection of candidates for IRMASAT 2025 and GA and PI. Candidates of the General Category, who score 80 percentile or above in CAT 2024/CMAT 2025/XAT 2025 are eligible to be shortlisted for IRMASAT 2025 and IWAT and PI process under merit-cum profile-based call. Candidates of the General Category, who score 85 percentile or above in CAT 2024/CMAT 2025/XAT 2025 and fall in the Non-profile based call criteria are eligible to be shortlisted for IRMASAT 2025 and GA and PI process. Cut-off for the candidates of reserved categories will be decided separately at the appropriate time.

IRMA Admission Process: Important Points to Remember

The below-mentioned points are important for the students looking for admission at the Institute of Rural Management (IRMA):

  • Candidates will be shortlisted based on scores obtained by them in CAT/XAT/CMAT (whichever is higher)
  • Shortlisted candidates have to appear for the IWAT and Personal Interviews 
  • 3.5% weightage will be given for gender diversity where 3.5% weightage is given to women and transgenders and 0% to male candidates
  • If a candidate provides valid proof of having passed their Class 12 or Class 10 from a school located in an aspirational district, they will get two marks in their final score. The candidates belonging to the northeastern states will be provided three marks, provided they submit a valid domicile certificate. 
  • If a candidate provides a government-issued certificate of their participation in sports at different levels they will be awarded marks corresponding to the level of their participation. They will be given 1.5% weightage. 
  • Candidates from any discipline except Engineering will be given the benefit of Academic Diversity
  • Only full-time paid employment experience after completion of graduation will be considered as of September 30, 2024. A benefit of 5% will be given to such candidates. Check the table below to know more:

Documents Required While Filling IRMASAT 2025 Application Form

The following list of documents will be required for filling the IRMASAT application form 2025:

  • Scanned or digital copy of your photograph and signature (Maximum size: 512 KB)
  • Scanned copy of your latest OBC (Non-creamy) / SC / ST / DAP category certificate as applicable (Maximum size: 1 MB)
  • Scanned copy of your mark sheets of Class 10, Class 12 and Graduation. Also upload your graduation certificate, sports certificate, extra-curricular certificate and work experience certificate (whichever is applicable) (Maximum size: 1 MB).
  • Valid CAT 2024XAT 2025 or CMAT 2025 score
  • Sponsored applicants are required to upload a sponsoring certificate as per the format available on the IRMA website
