IRMA placements; Highest package at Rs 27.4 Lakh

The week-long placement session concluded at Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) with Gujarat Co- operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), offering the highest number of jobs.

 

Around 350 students of Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PDGRM), and 100 recruiters were a part of the placement drive. The average salary offer made was over INR 8.5 LPA, while the median stood at INR 8.2 LPA. The maximum salary bagged by the batch was INR 27.4 LPA. Agri-finance and microfinance sector emerged to be the biggest recruiters.

Around 1/3^rd of the graduating batch joined the agrifinance- microfinance sector. Here, HDFC Bank emerged as the top recruiter with 11 offers. The next to follow was ICICI-Lombard, making 10 offers, and National Payments Corporation of India rolling out 9 offers.

Also, an increase in interest in Social entrepreneurship sector was observed with six of them recruiting 14 participants from the batch. As far as the offers made by non-government development organizations and government development organizations were concerned, 25 students opted for the same. Among these organisations, a few names were Aga Khan Rural Support Programme, Gramin Shiksha Kendra, Arghyam, PRADAN, Rajasthan Grameen Ajeevika Parishad, Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society, Madhya Pradesh State Rural Livelihoods Mission, and Society for Elimination of RuralPoverty (SERP) Andhra Pradesh.
