Objective: TISSNET assesses the social aptitude of the participant whereas TISSMAT has been introduced to evaluate the business aptitude of the participant. TISSNET participants are expected to have awareness about current affairs, developmental and socio-political issues whereas TISSMAT aspirants are expected to have an understanding of management literature and an ability to read and interpret data related to the economy, market, business situations.

TISSNET Exam Pattern
TISSNET will have 100 multiple choice questions of one mark each. TISSNET question paper will have three sections- English Language Comprehension and Usage, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning, and Current Affairs and Understanding of Social Issues based on topics under the TISSNET syllabus. There will be no negative marking in TISSNET.

TISSMAT Exam pattern
TISSMAT is of 45 minutes duration. The question paper will have multiple choice questions from three sections and the total marks would be around 50. TISSMAT question paper will also be divided into three sections-Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Business Awareness. TISSMAT will have a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Score aggregation: TISSNET 2023 score will only be used for shortlisting candidates for stage 2 of TISS selection process, it will not be added to the final score. With the exception of management courses, scores of Pre Interview Test and Personal Interview for all other MA programmes will be aggregated in the ratio 70:30 for final selection.
